Unhappy Hammers pundit hits out

|

Gonzo is one unhappy bunny today after following the Sebastien Haller soap opera to what he reckons is a quite disastrous conclusion.

The news that we had to pay him an alleged £3 million in a lump sum to move him onto Ajax has left ClaretandHugh‘s partner absolutely seething.

Gonzo can be found every day on our home page highlighting his views on what he believes is the issue of the day.

And Haller’s departure – whilst widely welcomed by most – had a financial conclusion which can only be described as quite outrageous in Gonzo’s terms.

He gives all his reasons in the video – and we won’t spoil it for you here – but essentially he males the point that these financial disaster – particularly at times such as these – simply have to come to an end.

Read what he has to say by going to our home page today and every day.

am i right in saying Mr McKay arranged the Haller deal whilst Pellegrini was in Australia?
He now seems to be earning a fee to find a replacement!!

I am truly beginning to get Meltdown…. Burn Out!
There is always and forever something to seeth about, but the truth is, it’s a normal part of most deals that end this way and post covid, deals will probably be constructed a little differently going forward.
There will be many clubs who will remain lumbered with well-paid players who aren’t a good fit at their clubs but have no option other than to continue to pay their wages.

Is it really a financial disaster with Haller. The financial implications of his contract suggest otherwise. Haller signed a 4 1/2 year deal the club paid £45m if he saw out his contact he could go for free. That would be a loss to the club of appx £1m per month taking into account Haller did not pull up any trees how much do you think clubs would pay for him I did not see a que of clubs lining up to buy him

Gonzo is spot on. This is a joke. Did he want to leave or not? If he wanted to go and play for Ajax then his contract is surely null and void? Talk about having ur cake and eating it. Bad business again

I know that man, on tv! The man has 90% common cents, 8% normal, clever one lives in Scotland. Facts

Gonzo is spot on . It really emphasises the waste of money and lack of oversight of Pellegrini’s dealing in the transfer market. I read a lot people earlier saying you can’t blame Haller for taking the one of payment – sorry I do. Let’s be honest he is not going to struggle on £90k a week at Ajax and he could have taken some responsibility for his own failure and accepted a cut when he left us. Especially in light of what he sees going on in the world at present with many seeing incomes cut in the Covid crises. Doesn’t compare well with the likes of what Rashford is doing for kids or indeed our own players/ clubs making donations to the food bank programme. It’s greed- pleased to see the back of him.

If these two tried as hard to get a striker as they did sorting out their pals directorships, we could be well looking at Europe this year

  • WestOzHammer says:

The time for getting mad was when Westham forked out £45m for Haller.. so what if we had to pay him out, who else would be lining up to sign him for £17m? (£20 – £3)??? I think with his current performance we’d be lucky to get £7m.

Past is the past lads.. Moyes is here now, and appears to have the support of GSB. So far he’s getting a lot right with his signings, while managing to cut out a bunch of dead wood. I’ll be interested to see what this window brings.
