‘Useless’ Soucek’s horror form continues

Tomas Soucek had a nightmare evening for the Czech Republic on Saturday, as they lost 4-0 to Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.

A Diogo Dalot double, a Bruno Fernandes strike and a goal from Diogo Jota gave the visitors a comfortable win, with Soucek playing 77 minutes in central midfield.

Soucek has struggled immensely this season at West Ham and his form was savaged by Czech newspapers after the result.

Seznam Zpravy, as per Hammers News, even went as far to brand Soucek as “useless” in central midfield.

It remains to be seen if he will retain his Irons place for the duration of the season because of just how terrible he has been in recent weeks.

The Czech Republic are in a dismal run of form and haven’t won any of their last three games, losing 2-0 away to Portugal and Spain in a row before the loss last night.

Vlad Coufal also played in the game, and could not stop their embarrassment. They are next in action on Tuesday against Switzerland.
