You couldn’t make it up. The original Lucas Paqueta ‘FA yellow cards for bets’ hearing had been scheduled to last three weeks. The hearing duly got under way on march 17th after a year and half of allegations and ‘evidence gathering’ with Paquetá insisting he was innocent of all the charges against him.
News today from the dailmail.co.uk confirming the hearing has been put ON HOLD with no explanation and no anticipated date of conclusion. As the newspaper’s on-line report heads:
“Lucas Paqueta’s spot-fixing hearing is put on HOLD and will not be concluded until at least May after FA decide they need more time to reach a verdict – with West Ham playmaker left in limbo”
“However, with so much evidence being evaluated by the panel, it is understood a fourth week is needed at least and individuals close to the case have revealed they are now stuck in a hiatus. “
Shambles then. What a surprise from the FA. Quite how Paquetá must be feeling after waiting 18 months to prove his innocence, now with no timescale given for an outcome, with a lifetime ban and tens of millions of pounds of player wages and club investment hanging in the balance.
Lucas Paqueta denies all of the FA Allegations.
If there was any hard evidence the FA would have banned him already . The FA are hoping that this long delay will pressurize Paqueta into making a plea deal of sorts . I truly hope that Paqueta stays strong and along with Westham financially destroys the FA and their corrupt members with multiple 100 million lawsuits .
Time to wind this whole shemozzle up…if the FA had any evidence it would’ve been shared by now you would think. The words p*ss, up and brewery immediately spring to mind…
I know what the letters FA stand for, and I’m sure that everyone can guess, but the bottom line has to be about how this case has negatively affected a World Class player psychologically and his family. This “nothing” case has negatively impacted both the player and the club over the last 18 months. A happy and relaxed Lucas Paquetá would surely have been a game changer for the team as well as the club.
How much should the FA be liable for in a case like this, where in the real world guilt has to be proven?
There looking for a face saver hoping paqueta will except a short ban or a large fine but paqueta is having non of it he’s done nothing wrong and is making the fa look like what they are clueless because a betting company lost a miniscule amount of money and may cost them millions
Would the FA dare to subject a British player to the same farcical situation? All that stress for a year and a half. Grossly unfair.
Sounds like a complete stitch up to me Surely after all this time if he was guilty they would have done it by now
This is barmy now.
Total incompetence by the FA – the bloke’s livelihood at stake.
The whole matter should be binned and the buffoons at the FA charged with time wasting.
Cretins……
