Valencia says life tougher at Everton

Valencia_3191610Enner Valencia reckons training at Everton is tougher than at West Ham!

Speaking for the first time since his year long loan deal was agreed the Ecuador striker decared: “I’m very happy to be here. It’s a great club with excellent fans. I’m looking forward to getting onto the pitch with my new teammates.

“I was in Ecuador when I signed with Everton on the last day of the transfer market. I was a little bit worried it wouldn’t get done in time but, in the end, everything was fine.

When the people who I work with told me about the possibility of joining Everton that morning, it was great news for me. When it was confirmed in the last hour [of the window], it was an even better moment.

“Training is different than my last team – a little bit harder! There’s a great coach and manager here and I am trying to learn about him.

“I already knew that Everton was a big team but when I came here to the training ground, I realised that it was bigger than what I thought before.

I have great teammates, there are great staff working behind the team and there are all the facilities for me to have a great year here.”

  1. This ties in with what I said several times last season and In preseason this time, our players look under prepared and we concede goals late in halves often in injury time, the fitter our players are the stronger and more concentrated they will be towards the end of halves and matches. Chelsea, Spurs, City all these are doing intensive double training sessions and it’s time we got with the programme, most European teams now do this certainly the successful ones, a lot of them use footsall to improve close control and an ability to think clearly when you receive the ball in tight spaces, none of this is rocket science or reinventing the wheel it has proved to be very successful, as I said about Spurs last season they are not better than most teams but they are fitter and that is an area of matches they can exploit to get more results which they did until they choked and threw the league away.

    • Leicester won the title with one session a day & two days off a week though 32.We lost what ,7 games last season.I aint having it if im honest.Well unless you know what ouf training sessions entail, then I bow to your superior, factual knowledge
So Valencia bigs up his new club & manager…what a surprise.Koemans so called tougher training couldn’t get Southampton above us last season 😉

  2. … great coach, great teammates, great staff, great year, great club… Nothing else? All right Enner, I’ll get back to you in a few months and you’ll tell me if everything looks so great… lol 😉
