Valencia; West Brom update

|

Valencia_3191610Enner Valencia will not be joining West Bromwich Albion in the summer.

However, ClaretandHugh has learned that sources keen to the player are keen to move him on to an interested clubs in Europe.

We were told that although the player’s contract has another three years to run the club are ready to listen to offers close to the £12 million the Irons paid for the Ecuador international.

However, a move to the Hawthorns isn’t even an option with a source close to the player saying: “There has been no contact and no enquiry. That is just the media at work.

“The suggestion was anyway that Albion would want a knock down deal or even a loan and neither would be acceptable to either the club or player.”

Valencia is, as reported in the past on this site, more likely to find himself heading for China – but at this stage there has been no contact.

We were told: “It’s too early to be talking deals but we don’t expect there to be any shortage of interest or takers once the window opens.

However, it’s all rather sad because however you want to look at it when he and Diafra Sakho were West Ham’s front two they looked a very potent attacking force indeed last season.”

Shame – I’d even volunteer to drive him up there and pay the diesel – the sooner he’s gone the better!

Yeah ship him out the door. The geezer has had two seasons now under two different managers & I just dont see him cutting the Colemans.I know he is still popular with some of our fans but I won’t be worried if he goes 😉

Still think we should let WBA have. Him if they part with Barahino as part of the deal,
It would give us a natural goal scorer and still very young but with Premier experience,
If they say no or he does move on,

^^ what bubs said^^ I thought exactly the same. Tbh I was never over excited about Enner even before we bought him. That was a real impulse buy. We should have bought Montero at the same time to get the best out of him, or even just buy Montero.

I think the last paragraph of the article says it all
“However, it’s all rather sad because however you want to look at it when he (Valencia) and Diafra Sakho were West Ham’s front two they looked a very potent attacking force indeed last season.”
There should be some genuine attempt to give these players a chance to re-vitalize their striking partnership, especially now that they are fit again. If we lose Emenkie, Valencia, and Sakho, we are left with one striker-Andy Carroll.
What is the saying about the baby and the bath-water?
Be careful all you wise men at West Ham!
If our management continues with their infatuation with AC, we will lucky to stay in the EPL, let alone thoughts about a top 4-6 finish!

Max, at last someone with a very sensible article, last season Bilic never let the two of them play up top for any period of time – it was always Carroll when fit and AN Other – even Carroll on his own with Sakho on the wing. I find it hard to accept this – Carroll is a very average footballer – what he has is raw strength – Sakho and Valencia are footballers. I would love to see Lukaka replace Carroll in the squad and I would be happy with Lukaka, Sakho, Valencia and the Spanish lad. I would then buy a class winger – Tore for me.

Who has said anything about getting rid of Valencia AND Sakho. You are using your imagination to make a hypothetical issue out of nothing Max haha Relax geezer, dont worry yourself about things that ain’t even happened 😉
As for being lucky to stay in the PL if we carry on with AC,well I have never been his strongest supporter but what you just said is bollox, sorry it just is IMO.

F#ck a stoat Max!!! I have read some weird views on blogs but thinking will will be lucky to survive in the Premier if we play Andy Carroll is a strange one. Each to their own as is said but I dont agree with your belief.

The worst thing it that John called it a very sensible article for once. This coming from a geezer who goes off like popcorn in a microwave haha

  • Gobby says:

Apologises Max but I can’t understand your point about Carroll at all.

I feel Valencia has been diasppointing as a whole when played this season, had the odd good game & goal. Had decent chances over the last few games & his efforts were tame, pretty much passed it back to the goalkeeper. We need to make room for new signings & he should imho be one who is moved on. Wouldn’t be too sad if AC followed him through the exit door. Too expensive for an impact sub. But then what do I know?

  • slaven a laugh says:

Really don’t understand the anti Carroll sentiment often expressed on this site. Some people seem to see him as “hippos man” and therefore want him out. Rubbish. He is our best striker and if anyone are hippos men then it is Valencia and sakho since at least they used to put in a performance back then.

  • slaven a laugh says:

Andy carrol is slavens main man for a reason. Because when he has played for Slav he has been our best striker. It really is as simple as that. Next season if we bring in a 31 million plus striker then most probably they will become our main striker. If that’s the case and Andy Carroll is coming off the bench then what an option to have I say. Impact sub. Maybe. Some were saying that before the game he started in where he scored a hat trick and was man of the match by a mile too.

  • Radai Lama says:

I think you can go across many sites & AC splits opinion F*ck me one guy on Wetpants wants him taken down by snipers every game haha.He has often polarised opinion not just here.
