Enner Valencia work permit has now been granted and he is due to arrive back in the UK by the end of the week to start training according to semi official spokesman Jack Sullivan. The news was confirmed officially shortly afterwards by WHUFC.com
“West Ham United are delighted to announce that Enner Valencia has been granted a work permit following a hearing at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday”
Valencia required a work permit as he did not automatically qualify under the 75% of international rule. West Ham won their appeal today to gain clearance under the “exceptional talent” criteria.
A FA appointed six man appeal panel heard from Sam Allardyce and West Ham secretary Andy Pincher at Wembley stadium today.
The panel is made up of a representative of the Football Association, Premier League, Professional Footballers’ Association together with three independent footballing experts. Now the appeal panel has given it’s approval it will go the borders agency for the permit to be finalised which basically a rubber stamp exercise.
