Video: Canning Town Len’s epic 1980 3rd round memory

It was the memorable round three draw at Hawthorns back in 1980 – which became known as the Phil Parks game – which set us up on an our run  and the rest is of course is history.

Parkesy was in utterly stunning form on that day and in Canning Town Len’s fabulous video ‘Everbody’s Second Team’ we have the pleasure of remembering tonight ahead of the 2020 fourth round draw.

The match at the Hawthorns finished 1-1 with Stuart Pearson striking for the Hammers before the game went back to the Boleyn where Trevor Brooking and Geoff Pike strikes saw us through to the next round via a 2-1 win.

But the draw at West Brom – almost entirely down to Parkesy – was the game that is remembered here with former legends discussing it on a video which every self respecting hammer must own.

So enjoy the clip and go out and get yourself a copy if you don’t have one already.
