Video: Far East London pays Bubbles homage

This is just a great video that needs to go viral among Hammers fans everywhere. It demonstrates that this great club, and the passion for it, crosses all cultures and there are no barriers to love for the Hammers.

There have been some racists and semi-racist remarks aimed at the Chinese fans which some find amusing but Claret and Hugh is fully on board with a tweet from a Hammers fan named Shucong Fu who wrote: “I have been supporting West Ham for 25 years (I am only 31 now) and I am proud to be a Hammer. We all flew hours across the county to Shanghai and Nanjing to see the team we love. Any racists mocking our accent won’t change the fact that we live West Ham. COYI.”

Taking the mickey out of someone because of their accent is the thin end of a wedge which can lead to all sorts of evil places and that Shucong should need to make a reference to it is appalling.

Thousands of us welcome your support mate and sorry they couldn’t win for you!

  1. So good to see & if China is Far East London, then here in Australia we must be Far South East London…COYI…βš’βš’βš’βš’

  2. If they’re mad enough to cheer for the same team as we do and wear claret and blue, then we should be welcoming them into our global family of insanity with open arms…

  3. I’m not on social media so I haven’t seen any remarks. If there have been, I hope they aren’t from West Ham fans. When something brings everybody together like a love for West Ham, it should be embraced. I watched what I assume to be the video in question (singing bubbles) and it made me smile. What a shame if some others can’t keep their venomous comments to themselves.
