Video: Gonzo’s full time report with our goal footage

In the absence of any TV cameras beyond those discovered on some streams here and there, Gonzo is here to give his after match analysis of the match at Brighton.

Gonzo -a long term partner of CandH – will bring his near on the whistle report from most games this season and in this one tells it as it is..

He makes it abundanty pretty clear that the south coast team were far superior to the Hammers for most of the game and could have won it 4-1.

However, this game being what it is, things could easily have gone the other way had Antonio scored near the end and Snoddy hadn’t seen another well saved following a fine Lanzini dribble.

However, we are grateful to Gonzo for his report  on a day when only a limited number of fans were able to catch up with the action as we grabbed our first point of the season

  1. I am not impressed with that performance to be honest . Surely we can do much better than that . If we don’t perform better than this we will be about the same as last season.

  2. Yep . Hope MP saw the report .

  3. Very well summed up, I found our defenders awful again, why oh why did we persist in kicking it long every time the ball went back to Fabianski.? They won everything in the air and frankly were by far the better team and payed out from the back, Masuaku hmmm where to start, Cresswell is not great, but in my opinion is a better defender than Masuaku and therefore has to come back in against Watford, or play Johnson.. Diop is our quickest centre back, but he is weak and in any given moment he is no better than our other 2 choices.. Now can anyone please tell me how the hell Fornals stayed on the pitch as long as he did? He did nothing, so lightweight, our balance from front to back is dreadful, and god help us if Fab gets injured, the owners will need to dig deep in January, as it will be painfully obvious we need to balance this squad up

  4. I agree on the whole. lanzini, wilshere and fornals are far too similar. Yarmolenko should have been given more time to make an impact. I couldn’t believe sanchez/chicha swap, is that playing like a big team??
Also the long ball?? Its no wonder there player Burn was given MOM; hes a giant and it felt like fabianski was aiming every long ball at him🤦‍♂️.
I did hope for much more yday but at least we have broken the losing streak at their place!
