Video: Moyes post match presser after Villa win

David Moyes gave his post-match press conference at the London Stadium following the 2-1 win over Aston Villa

What is your verdict on that David?

We won, stuck at it against a good Aston Villa team who have shown really good form away from home so I am really pleased to pick up the three points.

VAR controversy again…

Well I was more disappointed that we didn’t defend the cross and I do believe my defenders should have got goal side and stopped that in the first place but look, I don’t really like a lot of the offside rules at the moment but the lines that we are using now are something they have been and we are having to get used to.

I think the late and delayed flag is a terrible rule and I think it is enhancing the game at all.

Rice said they didn’t play well the first half, agree?

Well I am the manager and I told him that he didn’t play well in the first half either or the team, they were made well aware of that and that’s why we made the change to find a solution.

Did it work? Maybe, maybe not.

Up to fifth, thrilled with that?

I am thrilled with the position we are in but I am also interested in the performance, I want it to be better but if we don’t play well and win then I’ll take it.

Said Benrahma and Sebastien Haller made a big difference?

They came in and done quite well, I don’t agree the full game we played well, but I think that look we are introducing said gently, there were signs there you could see why we are doing that.

We made a big call tonight but I think to play Michail Antonio was the right call. He’s just not quite fit 100 per cent. If Seb can keep his form up then it will be useful for us.

Dean Smith said he was unhappy with a member of staff, you aware of that?

Now everybody can hear it, that goes on quite regularly, you can hear do now and again, it happens quite a bit.

I think the biggest disappointment was the game was completely littered with free kicks.

I think it happens regularly, you don’t always get to hear it. But the coach in question has already been and apologised and I am comfortable with that.
