Video: West Ham borrowing and transfer financing explained

Claret and Hugh associate editor Sean Whetstone has caught up with our partners Gonzo and Hammers Chat to explain the situation around West Ham’s borrowing over the six months which could reach £100m.

We speak about loans from Media Rights and Funding and Barclays Bank on top of the £30m cash injected by the owners through a shares rights issue.

In the second video on the Hammers Chat Forum Youtube channel the transfer finances of the Grady Diagana, Jordon Hugill, Albian Ajeti, Sebastien Haller and Said Benrahma are discussed along with what funds could be available in January .

We also attempt to put the Irons financial situation into context outside of the West Ham bubble we live in explaining Spurs and Manchester United have borrowed far more with Everton adopting a similar model of borrowing to West Ham.

You can watch both of Gonzo’s interviews with Sean blow.

Gonzo will have a new video on Claret and Hugh every day – don’t miss out on his latest talking point!
