Sky TV have given West Ham an apology/correction to West Ham following comments passed on their Sunday Supplement programme last week by a group of journalists.

We covered the story on Claretandhugh reporting that various remarks were made by journalists concerning the way the club was being run by the West Ham United board of directors.

Also included were comments on the way Birmingham City had been run when David Sullivan and David Gold were owners.

The fall out and content of the programme was such that the board fired off legal letters.

And today the broadcasting company offered a near one and a half minute correction  in which they apologised for any factual inaccuracies voiced by anybody involved in the edition.

The apology was given before today’s programme got underway and we understand that is now the end of the matter as far as Sky is concerned.

However the club is reserving its legal rights against the journalists concerned

If anyone wants to look – this is the last analysis of PL clubs finances –

Compare Sue Whelan’s salary (CEO Leicester) with Karren Brady’s and decide who is getting best value!!

Truth hurts don’t it ,the media and pundits are waking up to how useless they have been ,maybe a few others should as well, the prove over 10 year’s is there apart from 15/16 season it’s been relegation, battling relegation, protests embarrassing news artilcles from Brady, little jack tweeting about how we should not have signed some players ,lies and more lies ,but hey they saved us,yet right !!!

Just shows this is what happens when journalists start to write things based on the factually incorrect opinions of the disgruntled vocal minority of the fan base. There is no doubt Gold and Sully have invested huge amounts of money in trying to improve our club and they continue to do so as was demonstrated in the winter window. If some of the new signings like Haller have been disappointing I don’t see that as being the owners fault personally. We all thought Haller would be a huge success pre season. I’m sure Pellegrini did too. It cost him his job. The more factual untruths are repeated the more people start to believe it and accept it as fact. The fact our owners lend the club their own money at 4% interest is a godsend. They could easily get far more interest on their money investing elsewhere. They could easily get ten percent plus interest by making high net worth investments elsewhere but they choose to lend to West Ham. That way we don’t owe anybody apart from the owners themselves. No chance of defaulting in a loan made to yourself is there? It’s just good common sense business. I don’t know why some people can’t get their heads round this.

i tend not to knock the board but i find this a little embarrassing in the current climate. I know many will ask wjhere the apoogies are to the fans over lies they mae about the stadium cinfiguration and views, They in themselves are potentially litigious as Gold has laready come out and admioted he was wrong. So while im not one of the official proteaters this whole epiosde smacks of double standards

The amount of deluded morons who commented on this post is ridiculous. They are poor owners who are so out of touch . They care more about their reputation than they do about the club . We ( the people who want them gone ) are not the minority . You lot are . Or you’ve got the football knowledge of a lab rat . Can’t decide. Peace out .

A classic response; start of with an insult. Give an opinion as if it is accepted fact. Make a statement that can easily be refuted by looking at the history of the club (The Cairns Family didn’t do anything to prepare West Ham for the modern era). I don’t know Sullivan and Gold so I don’t know what they care about most. Make a claim that you are in the majority again with no facts other than your own opinion. End with an insult.

I could buy most of this so called “majority” a season ticket to the “Mouse Trap” and they would never know who did it because they’d leave 15 minutes before the end.

It is getting extremely boring listening too and reading the constant bilge that is been spouted. A lot of it encouraged by the media who do not have the best interests of anyone but themselves at heart.

If you you want to impress people like me go, make yourself a multi-millionaire, buy the club, and splash the cash.

Well done to the true supporters of WHU. Look back to the start of the season everything was good when we were wining matches. Now look at us everyone is looking for someone to blame so the vocal minority pick on the Board and the Manager. Can somebody please tell me if the owners of other clubs lend the club money do they charge interest? my bet is they do. The mess we are in is because of Mr P and his staff for failing to provide good cover for players that get injured like Fab did then we had the worst goalkeeper I’ve ever seen in our goal. How many goals did he let in Oxford was the worst humiliation I’ve ever seen. Then the players heads started to drop you could see it, I did when I went and saw the matches played at home as a season ticket holder who like me and others travel 270 miles return to watch and support our team. I do not blame our Board I do not blame Mr Moyes because he has to a job with the same tools. I clearly blame the players for letting this go on and on digging us into deeper trouble. And the end of the season a lot of them will be sold as states on there contracts so they will leave and continue there Careers and pay packets with another club, while me and my true mates WHU supporters choose wether we want to watch Championship football like we did under Big Sam

  • Legin says:

The constant carping by so called “true” West Ham supporters is starting to get intolerable. If I don’t renew my season ticket at the end of the year the decision will be driven by the significant number of whinging b’stards who are taking all the joy out of match day’s.

The teams performance isn’t good but they have been crap in most of the 36 years I’ve been watching them. Unfortunately we now have a significant number of members of society who are “angry” just because they are; these people do not let facts get in the way of their anger. And as anyone with half a brain knows the behaviour of football supporters reflects the behaviour of society.

    • HammerJK says:

Legin… you my friend are a LEGEND and a breath of fresh air. Totally 100% spot on.
Unfortunately football has a section of supporters exactly as you describe. These are the minority but they make a lot of noise so get a lot or press. Every club has them and I said in a post a couple of days ago it is unique to football. I watch and go to a lot of sport and you do not see this behaviour from rugby fans or cricket fans for example. There is always a level of banter and humour but none of it crosses the line because it wouldn’t be tolerated.

    • Whuduck says:

You can tell when 30% of you leave before the end of the game it was 3.3 and that’s not loyal support and you can see where the empty spaces are as legin said 40 years this has been going get over the crap and support your team ⚒⚒

  • George says:

They bought the club with the profits from the sale of Birmingham and had to take over the external loans to get their hands on the OS and ,bar the last two years when they were rumbled, charged 7% for the pleasure.
Even the most ardent board supporters can see that they have not spent £240m net since leaving the Boleyn, unless they are including salaries or ignoring player sales!!

  • Russell Burke says:

So they should apologise. I err on the side of the owners because we haven’t had decent owners since the Cearns. Gold is a genuine fan and cares about the club. No owner would risk bankruptcy by investing OTT. We are lucky to have them, no-one has invested as much as they have since I’ve supported WH and that’s quite a few years. Both Brum and WH have benefited from their ownership.

    • David Norton says:

I am a west ham fan if i was worth 1.5 billion like gold and sullivan i would not be charging 4.5 per cent or so interest and if i felt i hadnt the financial backing for the club i would sell it recouping what i had spent
