West Ham were due to face Watford at the London Stadium at 3 pm this afternoon before the football hiatus.

With Watford in 17th place in the Premier League table one place behind the Hammers it would have been a real six-pointer battle for survival.

Both teams are on 27 points after 29 games with the Hammers having a better goal difference of two goals.

The two sides have played 78 times sinceĀ  1898 with West Ham winning 44 times, drawing 13 and losing 21 games.

West Ham’s last two games both away at Vicarage road have resulted in wins in May and August 2019.

Last season saw a 4-1 away win with a brace from Mark Noble and goals from Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic.

Earlier this season the Hammers came away 3-1 winners with a double from Sebastien Haller and a penalty from Mark Noble.

The Hammers were 13th in the Premier League at the time with Watford in 20th place.
