Video: Why we want Carvahlo

We are still waiting for the final answer on William Carvalho but the Hammers remain confident that a deal can be done.

The game of brinkmanship has been going on for weeks with Sporting Lisbon wanting approaching 40 million euros. So far the Hammers have offered 32 million plus extras.

It’s entirely possible this could go down to deadline day and it’s highly unlikely it will be sorted today in time for the match against Southampton on Saturday.

So in the meantime let’s take a look at why the Irons are so keen to sign the 25 year old courtesy of the video above.

    Since the days of Savio I have made it a rule not to watch videos of players who might be joining us. I made an exception for this guy & wish I hadn’t watched it now! I know some of the tactical experts on here have found fault with him, but to me he looks to be part of the answer. We do need at least one midfielder who can tackle, hold the ball & pass it safely & accurately. He seems to fit that bill. Of course, what he will do ( if we get him) once he is here- another story altogether! Perhaps we should try going for players who everybody agrees are rubbish & see if they become good. Worth a try?🤔🤔

      Yes 64 , pony wasn’t he 😂 I’m a bit concerned that if we do get him ! Who is going to pass
      The ball backwards and sideways ? Way over priced IMO 😂😂😂

    We need him not a cheap option,
    If Ayew is worth £20 mil he is worth every penny plus plenty of years in the tank
    Add Delph and Bony on the cheap to our squad and we could be going places
    Sell Ayew,Snodgrass,Konte,Noble and we could break even this season

    You can watch a video clip on youtube on any player and it makes them look good.EG i just watched a clip of gorkhan tore and he looked like the best thing since sliced bread(we know otherwise!)and while i’m about it why do they have to accompany those clips with dross electronic music(Yeah i know i’m an old git).
    Anyway my mate who is up with all the european football reckons he will be a great buy.

    Konte is a very quich CH we got his very slow twin and did not spend a month trying to get a deal
    Same with Ayew and by any standards he was not cheap
