Villa Getting Cold Feet on Duran Transfer

Aston Villa are grappling with a decision regarding their young striker Jhon Duran, with West Ham emerging as a potential destination, according to talkSPORT and The Guardian.

The 20-year-old Colombian striker could command a hefty fee of up to £40 million, with C and H reporting earlier today that we’d been negotiating for the young striker for some time: Our current bid stands at £35 million as of lunchtime.

Duran’s – some would say disloyal- social media activity, including liking posts from other clubs, has raised concerns among Aston Villa fans: Coupled with his lack of guaranteed playing time behind Ollie Watkins, a move  to West Ham becomes an attractive option for a striker looking for more game time.

West Ham, in search of a striker, could offer Duran a more prominent role compared to other clubs, making them a more attractive option: As we reported earlier, personal terms have already been agreed with the Colombian. Some opinions on Duran liken him to Balotelli in both undoubted talent and questionable character: Can Lopetegui get the best out of him?

Sky Sports journalist Dan Bardell believes selling Duran could be a smart move for Villa, considering his off-field behaviour and the potential for a substantial transfer fee. However, he acknowledges the risk of Duran flourishing elsewhere, making Villa look foolish.

He is no doubt a talented player but would he fit in at the London Stadium?

Jhon Duran could be a great striker, he could also be a huge flop, as an Aston Villa supporter; I’m glad talks about him exiting Villa Park are hotting up lol 🙂

Well Villa obviously see the potential in him and if the reporting is true, which I doubt, the alternative is Callum Wilson. He’s the last person I want to see at our great club. He’d spend more time in the doctors office than Andy Carroll.

We love players with attitude at the hammers who cares what he does in downtime as long as he brings that attitude on the pitch ..I say go for it steiden sees all ..we are mere mortals

  • Sid says:

I’d keep him unless the 40m were offered, I think in the next few years he’s going to be one of the best forwards in the EPL. He just needs to settle down.

The lad is trying to run before he can walk and his attitude stinks, he needs to go unfortunatley

  • Legend of the Arctic says:

He liked another club’s social media posts? The audacity!

Just kidding, that is obviously an incredibly stupid quibble to have over a player, and if that’s the biggest red flag here, I say bring him on board ASAP. The man can do whatever he wants on Twitter or Instagram as long as he scores goals.

I hope we pass then, we have had our fair share of Big time Charlie’s.

  • Deathblow says:

Sell this mercenary, waaaaaay overpriced moron to FC Sportwashing. Howay!

Hoping all the crap about us buy him for 25 million more tan he’s worth and utter nonsense, like most of the twaddle about transfers posted on here. Please stop it.

  • Billy says:

Well we’ve had the likes of Payet and Arnoutavic before now. Truth is we put up with attitudes if the player has the skills and can score goals enough to match their brass neck.
