Villa would take Snodgrass back

Aston Villa want to sign Robert Snodgrass on another loan deal – but are waiting to hear what West Ham have planned for the winger. The Scot became a fans favourite at Villa Park last season after scoring seven goals and setting up 14 more.

The Birmingham Mail  claim that Villa boss Steve Bruce is keen on bringing the wideman back for another spell in the Midlands if Manuel Pellegrini would allow it.

Last week after the Villa V West Ham match Snodgrass told the Birmingham Mail “I loved every second here. I love the players, I love the staff, everybody about the city as well they couldn’t have been any nicer with me. All I want to try and do get minutes under my belt and try and play and show the West Ham fans what I can do. First season it was a bit stop-start. I started maybe seven or eight games or something like that. It’s not enough time to show what you can do. I showed the Aston Villa fans what I could in large spells of the season and obviously had a great relationship with them. So if I can do that with West Ham and get a chance hopefully I can build that relationship with them too.”

  1. I am sure they would but seeing as they only want a loan deal, tough luck Snodgrass is good cover for Yarmo or Anderson, I am not sure why we haven’t seen Antonio on the left wing yet, from what I have seen of Anderson on the youtube clips he prefers the right side, maybe Antonio left and Anderson right could be worth a look ?

    • I think Antonio started on the left side against Mainz, with Snoddy on the right. I think he looked uncomfortable there. I think we could afford to let Snoddy go out on loan again, with a combo of Anderson, Antonio, Masuaku and Yarmo occupying the wings. Remember we also have Nathan Holland in the ‘wings’ (excuse the pun) to challenge too.

      • Ok cool by the time I realised that match was being televised the first I saw of it was Arthur hitting the post with a penalty 🙂

    • Yep, mentioned yesterday I think he’s a decent squad player and no more.
Would bite their hand off if they offered a decent fee to sign permanently, but I’d keep as cover if a loan is the only option.

  2. I would let him go to Villa but only if they buy him as I understand his contract is up soon.

  3. Johnham has the sun got to you you have posted something positive
