West Ham Czech mates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal were again instrumental in getting their national team into the last eight of the Euro 2020. tournament.
It sounded like the West Ham republic team the number of times the two Hammers names were mentioned by TV commentators such was their involvement in the game.
The Czech Republic advance to a quarter-final date with Denmark. This was a comprehensive victory even if De Light’s sending off gave them an edge. Always disciplined and powerful, they showed shrewdness and skill to make the most of their extra man. Holes and Schick go the goals for a team starting to promise.
Soucek was the highest-rated player on the BBC website with his teammate Coufal four placed in match rating only behind goal scorers Holes and Schick.
Should they manage to get past Denmark they could face England again in the Euro 2020 semi-finals at Wembley Stadium for a second time this tournament.
As West Ham fans think have to be happy for them the lowest ranked team left I believe by FIFA. Underestimate by many Pundits bit to get out group & none picked to win this game I heard. I had then beating the Dutch though picked 2-1 Czech win. Maybe not big names but they work so hard as a unit & great spirit. Loved seeing the Hammers & West Ham shorts then Coufal running with Czech Flag was great.
If we had the money I’d be all in for Shick, he isn’t the best striker tho I thought was very good at Sampdoria then Roma spell didn’t work but he is very well rounded good on press in air phsyical & very good feet. Leverkusen I think paid £25m & with 4 goals in Euros sure be £40m plus bc they have Europa too finishing 6th also. But can just see him fitting in nicely bc already links up with Souček & Coufal well & plays 4231 with club a lot & Country. He could be type he actually do best in PL too… If spend big on CF out England he would make sense for settling in & at 25 good age but experience in top flight & Europe some.
Could be England vs Czech again. The way SG plays then is probably better bc I think agaisnt teams like Dutch, Spain etc it suits them bc they do well soaking up pressure waiting to counter.
I’m desperately hoping the Czechs don’t have a PL hangover from a deep run in the Euros next season. Soucek looked like he needed s break toward the end of last season.
Holas… I wonder if he would be a West Ham target??
