Vlasic deal close but Loftus-Cheek loan falters

Nikola Vlasic is a crossed t and a dotted i away from becoming a West Ham United player.

Despite an earlier glitch it seems that everything is now all but settled and that the CSKA midfielder will become a deadline day Irons signing.

Once again it was personal terms and agents fees which looked set to get in the way of a deal but that has now been all but settled.

The same may not be the case with Ruben Loftus-Cheek where similar problems exist and we now understand that the final total for a one season loan deal would top £10 million with the various cuts currently involved.

That could well kill the deal given it could approach approaching half of what the club paid for his former Chelsea team-mate Kurt Zouma.

Vlasic will still be a top signing for the Hammers and it could well be that David Moyes will move heaven and earth to get his real favourite Jesse Lingard back to the club on a new loan deal by the close of play on deadline day.

We understand intensive talks went on all day Monday and that there is still a chance a deal could be done.
