The Hammers go into tomorrow’s game looking for a fifth successive win over Leeds since they returned to the Premier League.
It remains to be seen just how many injuries the Yorkshire outfit are carrying although they are bound to make life difficult as they did for periods in last week’s FA Cup win at the London Stadium
After a bright season last term when they finished with 59 points – six less than us – they sit in 16th place this time around with 40 less and are possible candidates for the drop.
It seems to be very much a case of second season- it’s as was the case of course with Sheffield United on their promotion although things haven’t quite reached that stage yet.
With the Hammers very much on track, although the manager has spoken of injury and illness problems, we are looking for another morale boosting victory but – as they say – we take nothing for granted!
Nikola Vlasic certainly isn’t doing so and told the official site: “I’m a little bit surprised but they are still a good team.
“We played them in the FA Cup and it was a hard game because they play a unique style of football, man on man all over the pitch, so it’s really hard to play against them, but it’s also really hard for them to play every game like that so we’ll see what happens at the weekend.
“Of course, last weekend’s game against them helps us. We analysed that game and saw what we did good and what we can improve.”
I hope that Vlasic’s comments aren’t giving them the fuel that they need…
IF it is purely because his confidence is flowing and the belief is there now, I can’t wait to see him wreak havoc against them.
