Vote of confidence for David Gold

Gold3Sixty-eight percent of supporters polled want to  keep David Gold as co-owner and Hammers joint-chairman.

Gold said earlier this week that he would leave West Ham if 86% of fans didn’t want him to remain.

And in twitter poll of 1,358 fans, on Sunday only 32% said they wanted him gone – less than half those who want him to stay.

Gold’s quote of 86% comes from his days at Birmingham when that total said they wanted him gone in a Birmingham Mail newspaper.

The Gold brothers and David Sullivan turned down offers Carson Yeung twice before accepting a take over in 2009.

Gold sold his thirteen percent shareholding for £10m after suffering weeks of abuse at the hands of Birmingham City fans which culminated in the newspaper poll.

The poll backs up findings in the London Stadium survey by 6,365 match going supporters in which 72% said the board were doing an OK, Good or Excellent job with only 28% saying they were doing a poor job at West Ham

  1. Excellent!! Up yours haters. I’ve always been a big fan of polls 😂

  2. 1,250 fans voted – do me a favour!

I’ll say it again – you can make Statistics mean anything you want – and perfect to write an article about on a slow day for news!

Thankfully the International break is over and we can get back to proper football – these International breaks drive me nuts!

  3. Whatever the outcome and im not pro the Davids at all there are thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of fans who just get on with supporting the team/club without some peculiar need to sit on blogs every day dumping on both like some strange obsessive.

  4. I don’t understand where all the hatred comes from, when it was the Cearns family and Terence Brown you could see the team was under invested in, although much of that abuse was over the top you could understand it, I am struggling to find any reasons why anybody could think that our current chairman don’t want to improve us each year, we have had one bad window which may in the fullness of time not seem to be bad at all other than that we have had a lot of good windows and at a time when no one wanted to touch the club because it had over £100m in debt and was staring down the barrel at bankruptcy or worse they bought us and saved the club. The fact that we are now ambitious enough to believe we should be regular contenders in the European places is down to them, without them we could well have finished up like Portsmouth.

  5. Bravo No32
Totally agree. yeah this year had its probs.but we are alive and kicking !! thanx to the daves.
Im not a great fan of brady who thinks we are customers NOT fans. Just hope the daves stck with Slav he deserves another season to show his best again.
COYI in Slav and the board we trust

    • Cheers mate, yeah I am not a fan of Brady either and agree with you on her, she does seem to have an aptitude for making deals though and all clubs need someone that can see an opportunity and make the most out of it. I actually wonder if once the players were selected (not by her) if she was in charge of making the deals happen whether we wouldn’t get them at better prices, pay agents less and sell them at higher prices but who knows…

    • I’m no fan of her by any means but Brady isn’t there to be a supporter or to make friends, she is there to make the club as much money as possible. Take a look at the commercial deals she has brought to the club over the last few years. You only have to have a quick look at the official website down the bottom of the page. She is crap at explaining this to us supporters & see’s everything in business terms.
People forget that she is employed to do what she is told to do.

  6. Of course he should stay. He’s brought us stability during his tenure at the club, and it’s stability that we desperately need right now during our ‘transitional period’ in the new stadium. Would be daft to want him out.
