All the transfer heavyweights have lined up to confirm that Kurt Zouma will undergo a medical this week as a new Shabab Al-Ahli player.

As reported earlier, the transfer is agreed and sealed for the defender to leave West Ham as soon as he passes his physical examination.

Within the last hour, Fabrizio Romano and Darmesh Sheth have confirmed the breaking news that the former Chelsea player, who signed for the Hammers for £30 million under David Moyes, is set to move.

It’s fair to say that the club, fans, and the player himself are on edge as we await the results of the medical.

The Frenchman has been plagued by knee injuries since before joining West Ham, but it seemed to impact him far more last season when there was a noticeable lack of mobility. Increasingly, Zouma has only been involved in light training and particularly struggled to cope with two games per week during the Hammers’ European campaign.

If the transfer to the UAE Pro League is ratified, Tim Steidten will immediately press ahead with plans to replace Zouma.

Hope medical is passed & hope they don’t spend too long on his knees. He’s not up to premier league standard any more especially in terms of playing more than one game a week. Wish him well & a suitable replacement at lower wages can be found ⚒

WE should send them X rays and scans of Kudus’ knees and see if they notice.

After all that, bet he fails the medical 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍

Sorry to see Kurt go but he leaves with thanks for a job well done at West Ham. Obvious new captain is Tomas Soucek. Guido Rodriguez holding will enable Tomas to play in the position which has made him Czech captain and MVP. Reverting back to the season before Declan decided he would like to go forward, Tomas will be a revellation as a player and a natural captain.
Thanks again Kurt Zouma. Bring on Tomas Soucek leading a super team. Super Irons.

Taffy, noway thomas getting a game now, how on earth will he fit in the new style of pressing football, a great guy and been brill for us, but no shock to see him go next…same for JWP…Bowen for me.

  • John Ayris says:

If this transfer goes ahead, and if he’s completely off the wageroll then it will be the transfer of the window.

It would free up a huge wage and a squad place that could be used for an incoming player rather than have him run down his contract as I was expecting to happen – A get out of jail free.

We are where we are, but writing off a £30m investment on a player that is only 29 just shows how bad we have been at this business in the past. His issues were known before we bought him, that they have gotten worse was inevitable.

unfortunately for us moyes wasn’t flexible, with his limited knowledge and is personal approach interacting with prospective players he either committed or didn’t sign anyone

giving him final say over signings was a massive mistake by sullivan

god was looking over west ham during his last window, the failure of maguire and mctominay would have made this transition impossible, instead of looking up the table we’d be looking over our shoulder at the relegation spots

moyes is probably the only man that could effectively fight relegation with last seasons squad, him or perhaps pulis and maybe allardyce

  • Phil McDonald says:

Medical haha, the fix will have to be in 🙂

  • Trevsheadwonthecup says:

Im pretty sure they know his issues. As well as anyone else . The destination I suspect is telling. We shall see .

  • Charlie Farley says:

Whatever the outcome of Zouma’s medical, he’s played his last game for West Ham.
