Walcott rumour – Sullivan jnr responds

WalcottSpeculation that Theo Walcott is the subject of a £25 million West Ham inquiry from the Irons is well wide of the mark.

The rumour factory has been throwing up the Arsenal striker’s name for weeks but co-chairman David Sullivan has made it crystal clear on several occasions that he wants a 20 goal a season striker.

Walcott at 27 has only managed 26 in the last three and is a player whose potential has far outweighed his promise for a long time now – it won’t happen.

Indeed within the last hour Sullivan’s youngest son Jack has tweeted that the club is not interested in the former England player or his team mate Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain.

He said: “Just spoken to Dad and we are not interested in Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.”

This is no surprise to us over at ClaretandHugh where we reported last week that no deals will be done before the Euro 2016 Finals which manager Slaven Bilic will be watching keenly and where we are told by our sources he has some targets.

  1. Why would anyone pay £ 25 mil on a player with such a poor injury record beats me , these rumours are risable !

  2. Not for me thanks.

  3. My cousin’s a big Arses fan, he says we could have Chamberlain and Walcott on a free, they’re both rubbish. I agree

  4. Just not the sort of player we need,we will almost certainly play one up top with all the talent we have to play alongside him and we need a target man that scores goals,
If AC stays as our super sub we need a player with presence,
    Bony Wilson Dehenney
With Tore to join Payet,Lanzini and Antonio we already have Sak and Valencia,
We will get the goals but why does it have to come from 1 player,
All the ones above can add 8-10 goals a piece with Noble and Kouyate to add another 6 each,
Things are not that bad with our team so replace Tore for Moses and bring in another main striker for Emineke and then we only need to replace who leaves with a better player,

  5. I’m going all in on Zaza bubs.Matte has convinced me with his Italian knowledge last night lol.I rate Deeney as well but he definitely blows quite hot & cold.Earlier in the season we were ment to be all over Igloo but that seems to have died a death hasn’t it.
