James Ward-Prowse disagrees with David Moyes
James Ward-Prowse disagrees with David Moyes on what have may contributed to the dreadful defeat at Fulham and explains that things needed to be put right quickly!
Manager Moyes has made much of the busy schedule and fixture calendar believing that is taking out too much on the lads physically. Among the list of reasons why at the post match presser he claimed: “It’s nearly impossible to keep the players fresh [in this schedule], but it would be possible to put our midweek game on Wednesday.”
He also made much of the fact that Fulham had played on a Wednesday whereas we had had to wait until Thursday claiming that had much to do with the thumping which let’s face it is an odd suggestion and one which JWP clearly does not accept.
Honesty is always the best policy and the midfielder was in no mood to kid himself or anyone else when discussing the match when talking to the official site after the hammers.
In fact he was more than outspoken telling Sky Sports: “I don’t believe that (the busy schedule) is the reason. I think we’re all professionals, we all look after ourselves and make sure that we’re in the best shape possible.
“There’s no excuse for losing five-nil to Fulham full stop and we have to look at that and analyse it very quickly.
It’s really frustrating. When you have a result like that [at Spurs] and have been on the run we’ve been on you want to continue it and to lose in the manner we did on Sunday wasn’t acceptable by our standards.
And if we want to be the team that we want to be and be in that top half and challenging where we believe we can, we can’t lose games like that, for sure.
