Ward-Prowse wants more help from the lads

Ward-Prowse wants more help

If the Hammers are to beat Newcastle much of that will probably be down to James Ward-Prowse.

The central midfielder’s set pieces and corners have been a remarkable feature of this season’s performances.

That he has six assists to his name already tells us everything we need to know about the summer signing,

He is deadly from corners in particular where we have players more than able to capitalise on those wonderful deliveries to whom he humbly hands the credit!

Ward-Prowse tells lads what he wants

Now he has told them what else he wants from them as we approach a seriously game of football and let’s hope they are all listening  – as we are sure they are.

Ward-Prowse want the lads to be winning free kicks in and around the penalty area and one who is regularly trying – some times embarrassingly is Lucas Paqueta of course.

Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the Newcastle clash Ward-Prowse made his hopes clear to the squad.

He said: “It’s an exciting feeling you get taking a corner and you’ve got lads in the middle who are desperate to score and they all come up to me individually and tell me exactly where they want it, so I’ve got four or five different options .

“So they all want to score and it’s been a good weapon for us so far this season and hopefully it can continue…

“I’d like to get a few free-kicks maybe around the box. So maybe those lads can repay me in that way! But any way to contribute I’ll keep delivering the balls and hopefully we can keep putting them away.”
