West Ham United manager Nuno Espírito Santo is not on the verge of being sacked.
That is the latest from a top London Stadium source speaking to Claret & Hugh within the last few minutes, calling the rumour simply “rubbish”.
Late last night, Sky Sports Germany reported that Nuno had just one game remaining — against his former club Nottingham Forest — to save his job. The update came from Sky’s chief reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claimed the Hammers boss was “on the verge of being sacked”.
West Ham sources have now firmly denied that claim, rubbishing the Sky reports and adding: “We’ve just signed two strikers the manager wants, spending over €50m. We are 100% behind him.”
That stance would certainly align with the club’s current transfer activity, with £30m Argentine striker Valentín Castellanos expected to be announced later today.
For now, despite the noise and growing pressure, the message coming from inside the London Stadium is clear: Nuno remains very much in charge.
The club needs a complete clearout from top to bottom, whilst it will require a period in the wilderness, it is essential for the future of the club.
“No No” If the board are backing him , then we will surely be relegated .We have to better the sides above us,and i can’t see that happening. wolves game was utter disgrace both players and manager . No other team would keep this manager. He is so negative.
For the love of the Gods, no one tell Sully Amorim is available on a free!
Sully and Brady will not admit they have employed another dud manager, terrible record of employment sits with the board, what a mess. Now the press are on their case it’s just going to get in the players heads even more
These rumours are not helping the team at all.
Did they not notice him sit on his arse and do nothing in the second half?
Or are we stuck in a Sullivan / Nuno hole where Sullivan wants him gone but wont pay him to go, Nuno wants to go but wants a pay out.
Or does Sullivan just not actually care any more?
