Edson the latest name in Hammers frame!

|

Welcome Edson !

Finally, we are apparently about to of seal our first a major transfer deal of the summer according to positive reports , as Edson Alvarez is coming to the London Stadium to have his medical and sign on the dotted line.

A lot has been written about our lack of success in the summer transfer window and fingers have been pointed at who to blame.

Being charitable, apportioning blame doesn’t really help anybody because what is done, is done. But hopefully lessons will have been learned.

Let us hope that once one player is in the door, the dam will finally burst and more will follow.

I for one, am will be very pleased should he arrive as our new signing would be a class act, and at 25, he fits the age and profile West Ham should be searching for as we continue to build the team.

The hopefully soon to be ex-Serie A man, will cost about €25m with about €5m in add ons.

Notwithstanding the horror show yesterday against Leverkusen, this is at least a step in the right direction.

I said to myself I wouldn’t believe any news of West Ham signings unless I see the player in a Hammers shirt. So I did a whoop whoop when I saw your pic in this story. And then I read this bit.
“Edson Alvarez is coming to the London Stadium to have his medical and sign on the dotted line.”
That is definitely out of order Mr Simon Leyland! Photoshopping a dodgy pic is just not on. I hope you don’t end up with egg on your face otherwise YOUR head will roll!

Fingers firmly crossed that this deal happens. Looks like a great signing at last and not before time.

To quote you “apportioning blame doesn’t really help anybody” – so why do C&H continue to do it?

    • Because we believe like many others that certain people are to blame and it is inevitable that it will be said at various stages

If something’s going wrong there has to be a reason or reasons and Hugh & others are entitled to express their views. I’ve supported Moyes until now and he seems a decent bloke to me. I would never call him a dinosaur, and I think he’d like the team to play more attractive football, but he just can’t seem to make it happen. The injuries last season and loss of form by some others did not help. However, his apparent desire to sign the likes of Maguire who considers himself too good for the claret & blue, plus the dreadful form in the last 2 matches, has lead me reluctantly to the conclusion that we need a change. It’s not all down to Moyes but the team have lost direction and motivation on the pitch and he’s the manager.

Carlos Borges was also coming and imminent, according to form if reports are to be believed we have lowballed an offer again… Levy is said to be the worst chairman to deal with but Sullivan can’t be far behind. I genuinely hope we have new owners soon.
