Well done Moysie…you got this one so right

|

David Moyes has got one thing very right this season despite claims from some fans that he was totally in the wrong to re-sign Tomas Soucek to a new deal.

There was much confusion over that in the media at large  until Claret and Hugh received personal confirmation from David Sullivan that he had signed a new four year contract back in the summer.

Soucek – by his own admission – was himself last season claiming he had lacked motivation as the Hammers struggled.

As has been mentioned at various times in the past that was no doubt down to Declan Rice being handed the attacking midfield role which has been the role Tomas has being used in to great effect throughout his career.

Many believed that with the arrival of Paqueta, JWP and Mo Kudus, the Czech star would spend time on the sidelines.

Not at all as so far he has played seven Premier League games scoring twice – as many as he managed throughout last season – plus two more in Europe and the Carabao Cup.

Personally, I’ve always been a fan and that he is holding his own so successfully in a quality midfield tells us more about him than his critics.

And well done to the manager for realising his mistake from last season and putting it right to fairly dramatic effect.
