Well done West Ham as kids become Irons for life

|

family1West Ham has its knockers – even from within the fan base but that’s okay – we pay our money and we are allowed to moan – goes with the territory. We all do it – it’s permitted.

Some loathe the board, some aren’t keen on the manager, others make their feelings known about signings, results and all the rest of it.

There’s been the additional issue over the move from the beloved Boleyn which some of us will never fully get over although as results improve the memories dim.

What I don’t often hear is an outpouring of praise for the club as a whole when they get something completely right and the  point of this article is to do precisely that over the Family Fun Day.

Those who attended had the time of their lives and the sight of beaming young faces represented the future of a club which has always been recognised as “family.”

It helped to make them  Hammers for life and that’s great.

Ok, dismiss it as a PR stunt if you wish and no doubt many will, others will no doubt blast us for giving the club credit via this article and present the weary argument that we are in their pockets which we most certainly aren’t and never will be. Ask them!!!!

We will always criticise if we need to as was the case when we petitioned against the premier line telephone rip off and the club dropped them as a result.

Equally, when we see Slaven and Mark Noble holding a press conference for kids who have enjoyed all the fun of the Irons fair and left smiling and feeling ” this is my club” we’ll say well done.

Congratulations to all who were involved in the day. Excellent stuff .
