Wembley stadium will be half empty tonight

|

wembleyWembley Stadium is likely to announce an official attendance of around 40,000 for the Carabao Cup tonight.

Spurs put tickets on restricted general sale after it failed to sell out to 45,000 season ticket holders, tens of thousands of members and those on the season ticket waiting list but it has failed to sell out the fixture.

Spurs chose to have a reduced Wembley capacity of 50,835 for this match but have sold around 35,000 of their 46,000 tickets to supporters.

West Ham sold out their allocation of 4,800 to season ticket holders with eight or more priority points in a matter of days with a senior source telling Claret and Hugh of their disappointment at the low allocation and that the club could have sold three or four times as many tickets to eager Hammers.

Hundreds of West Ham fans are thought to have snapped up tickets in Spurs home end for tonight after they failed to get away tickets, Police say they are aware of the situation and will be closely monitoring this evening at the high-risk game.
