West Ham United are prepared to aggressively pursue the transfer of Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Hammers originally had a loan deal agreed with the club, which would have involved an obligation to purchase the player next season for £27 million. West Ham also had an agreement with the player himself over personal terms and were said to be hours away from completing the transfer.
However, as has been widely reported, Juventus made their interest known to the player and his representatives, at which point Todibo decided to move to Serie A. Unfortunately, the Italians have been unable to complete the transfer due to a lack of funds. Juve have not been able to get anywhere near West Ham’s offer for the centre-back, which has caused strained relations with the French club.
It now appears the Hammers are willing to try and force the player’s hand by offering the Ligue 1 club an outright transfer without any loan agreement. It is believed that Juventus will have to move quickly to block West Ham’s move, with the Irons becoming increasingly confident of landing the player having played the long game.
Somebody needs to make this happen. If we broke the bank for our Kilman, should blow the bleeding doors off to get this guy.⚒️⚒️
This is a waste of time, get Fabricio Bruno, we need a leader at the back someone that will dominate Todibo isn’t that and Kilman isn’t either. Has all the hallmarks of our pursuit of En Nesyri who also didn’t want to come, buy players that want to play for us not ones that want to go elsewhere.
Todibo is a class act and a French international.Bruno is a mercenary and is too old and will have no resale value.Come on steinden bring todibo to west ham united!!!
Todibo is the man. Get him in
Is he gonna put a 100% shift in if his dream move to Juve falls through.. That’s the question I’d be asking
The small issue that Todibo “Only wants Juve” could be a problem.
Signing Todibo would be a statement of intent whereas some of the other names linked are no more than that. It is starting to sound like desperation and every time the club has been desperate we have wasted money and time on the wrong players.
We find ourselves in this position because succession planning and steady, consistent improvement year on year has not been achieved. The average age of the team has been a problem for some time.
If the do sign Torino for a substantial fee, they could sign a much less expensive younger option for right back. I’m confident that level heads will prevail this time around, although they have already missed a trick in not going all out for Duran. He’d have been an outstanding investment.
Looks like Tim’s persistence is going to come to frutiction.
He wants Todibas as much as JLo wanted Kilman.
Let’s hope the wait is worth it.
He doesn’t want to play for West Ham move on, sick of chasing players that are not interested in our club ⚒️
