West Ham 0-3 Tottenham
Hermansen:5 Managed to get his hand of one of Tottenham’s numerous corners as Spurs started the first half slowly and finished with a flourish. Will have been pleased to get to half time at 0-0. Poor positioning for Spurs second. Made an excellent double save against Kudus and Johnson to stop it being 4-0.
Walker Peters:5 Nice run forward against his former club opened up a good Hammers attack. Looked to get on the front-foot when possible. Equally responsible for Tottenham’s second with Mavropanos.
Mavropanos:5 Promising sign early on as Dinos beat Xavi Simons for pace then won his first three headers. Called into action more and more as the first half went on and was a brick wall in the first half. Went to sleep as he lost Bergvall from open play.
Kilman:4 Sloppy mid and long range passing but made an important block at the beginning of the game. Not happy with his role in the zonal marking at corners which seem to be easily unpicked by the opposition. Very bad for Van de Ven’s goal and Tottenham’s third after 65 mins.
Diouf:5 Dangerous early cross almost found Bowen in the box and looked to have the start of a partnership with Summerville. Easily manhandled by Bergvall from marking Sarr as Spurs predictable went ahead from corner after 47 mins.
Ward Prowse:3 Worked hard as usually but his consistent inability to win loose balls continues to be a problem. Did produce a good delivery from a set-piece which Kilman should have done better with.
Soucek:4 Forced into an early block within the first minute and won a number of 50/50 balls early in the game. So important when defending from corners and crosses where he often became a third central defender. Sent off for a lunge with studs showing, no complaints but killed the game as a contest and Spurs scored their second two minutes later.
Fernandes:5 Created an excellent chance for Paqueta early in the game. No doubt Fernandes will become a crowd favourite with his skill and willingness to scrap.
Bowen:4 Not involved at all in the first half. Had an early shot from range at the start of the second period. Created West Ham’s first corner of the game forcing Vicario into a save.
Summerville:4 Impressed with how he was willing to graft and help out Diouf deal with Kudus.
Paqueta:4 Should have scored after 13 minutes and his influence on the game lessened from that point.
Substitutes
Guilherme: On for Summerville in the 60th minute
Magassa: Replaced Fernandes as part of a joint substitution. Probably unfair to rate or assess the substitutes considering they were introduced with the team losing and down to 10 men.
Wilson: Brought on for Paqueta at 3-0 down after 65 mins.
Irving: 90th min swap for Ward Prowse

You are so biased and blinked when it comes to Soucek was the worst player on the pitch by a country mile and gets sent off after a bit of control a 6 year old should be embarrased about but yo rate him a 4 should be a 1
I’d give Bowen and Summerville higher scores but this was down to Potter, Magassa showed more in his time than most of the team. Potter insists on playing JWP he literally did f all and yet wasn’t substituted until 93 minutes, Irving did more in 2 minutes than JWP in over 90 why does he insist on playing him…
If Potter can’t see what is blindingly obvious then serious questions have to be asked, I was hoping for a bounce and aggression from the get go and saw a limp lettuce of a performance. Fernandes was at least trying yet was substituted while the invisible man was left on, wtf when Soucek miscontrolled and was rightly sent off for at least trying I was expecting JWP for Magassa but oh no the golden boy was allowed to leave the gaping hole in the middle for a lot longer.
I have nothing personal against JWP but his stats speak for themselves as do the results when he starts.
That Kudus looks a good player! Wish we had someone like him? He looks like a 85 million (plus) player for sure! If only!
Every fan on this forum says that Ward Prowse and Soucek together don’t work, too slow, not progressive, don’t win and keep the ball. Ward Prowse in particular is just not up to it. We have three players who should be ahead of him.
Will somebody tell Potter please? Or sack him.
Soucek not up to it either
Potter has to be gone on Monday, has learnt nothing and no sign of improvement. West would have been better in goal, Potts Earthy Orford or Irving would have provided more in midfield,. 3 down before we send on a striker?
JOKE of a manager
Agreed. He dosnt have the minerals or tactical sense to keep us up this season.
We have fallen so far behind nearly every other premiership team both on and on the pitch that I think we are in for a very very tough 4 ot 5 years as fans unless changes are made at the top now!
We don’t have a keeper named West. If you’re referring to Wes Foderingham, he has already left the club. Gone. And he would have not done any better.
Start of Potters reign ‘Back Potter or he will fail’.
Not much else to say results are speaking for themselves.
Guilherme and Wilson brought on and not mentioned.
Everybody knows the problem but not the board.
Prowse needs to be starting on bench.
Sacking Potter is not the answer whoever follows just won’t have players needed especially a striker.
JWP is championship at best! He will get Potter sacked and us relegated. Don’t want to hear anymore rubbish about how hard he works or tries? So what? He isn’t premiership anymore, no where near in fact. It’s like playing with 10 men putting him in the team every bloody game. Sullivan and Brady need to go and take JWP and Potter with you. The 4 of em are total embarrassment and saying we didn’t need to sign a striker is beyond me. We’re turning into a laughing stock, joke of a club….
Back to square one? This will be a tough season … again. The first fifteen minutes looked hopeful, but that was it.
He should be sacked for that team selection/formation alone .f off potter
Potter has to go and the goal keeper
Disgrace! Spurs played for corners because it was the easiest way to score against us. Worst thing about Soucek red was it meant JWP had to stay on the pitch (at least in Potters POV). To not play a striker for 60 minutes is an embarrassment and although the argument will likely be the game was gone so he hooked players to avoid injury, how could he take off Fernandes and Summerville?? Irving might not be a fashionable player but he and Mangassa should be in that middle instead of Soucek and JWP next game.
Absolutely pitiful. So easy to play against. Set pieces and balls over the top. Simples! Kilman and Mavrapanos pathetic. No protection for the goalkeeper. Oh no, sorry, there’s the gjgantic Walker-Peters towering over Romero, who Spurs used to block the keeper! Whose brilliant idea was that?
And then they spent the last 20 minutes dropping ever deeper, as if they were 3-0 up rather than 0-3 down. Please, please change this “I haven’t got a clue” manager.
What a total shambles
Sending off had some effect
But total gutless performance
Lucky Spurs we’re not that great or it could have been a lot worse
Total shambolic, embarrassing display, had hope after the forest game, but back to the old was, just crumbled, no leader or encouragement from anyone
I think we need a change, the players are not playing for the manager or West Ham
Need a clear out right through
Ward-Prowse needs replacing and Potts must be given a chance.
WHAT??? Soucek gets a 4? A 4???? How? He is so bad and cost us the game because his touch was awful and he’s as slow as a carthorse, and nobody seems to see it! I just don’t understand. He is the single biggest reason why our team is so slow. You can put £2,000 racing tyres on a car, but if the engine is a 1 litre, then what’s the point?? ARGH!!!!
Wasn’t in my starting eleven, neither was JWP both too slow. Soucek sent off, JWP incredibly not off until after 90 minutes. I was prepared to see what Potter did with the new players available and what he did was a fail.
Souceks 4 clearly shows he did more in 54 mins and despite being sent off was more valuable than JWP on 90. Fair enough to give him a 2 and JWP 1 assuming 0 is what Aguerd gets for not showing up at all v Forest
Yeah see how well we did without him.
Not the first time this season and probably not the last, but have to say that was a hard watch.
Yes we got hammered by a few teams whist he was in charge but we arguably played better football under Lopetegui.
Not my starting eleven. Not my subs off. Relegation standard second half was a disgrace. Not my choice of manager.
He simply has to go .We actually have a really good group of players that need to be “ managed” . Sick and tired of every time we play that we have to witness the exact same performance. Any other industry he wld be out.
It was embarrassing John we are so far off teams who have overtaken us in every part of the game. It was like men against boys, and how did we not show any improvement in defending corners especially against Kudus? Every single time we defended zonally and no-one commanded our area. How their goal was disallowed is a mystery and should have been 4. Still no Freddie Potts and Soucek and JWP were hopeless.yet still get picked ahead of our youngsters. Ironically just watching Brentford v Chelsea and Brentford posing more attacking threat in the first 7 minutes than we did in 95.
