West Ham 1-2 Nottingham Forest

Areola:4 Incredible instinctive stop from Gibbs-White after 4 minutes. Forced into action again following a vicious Wood shot as the game started with chances at both ends of the pitch. Made a howler of an error when he tried to play deft football but instead passed the ball straight to Morgan Gibbs White for a gift-wrapped easy goal into an open net.

Todibo:6 Should have scored from a corner after 2 mins. Cut out a pass which would have been a tap-in for Elanga. Mis-control during the 11 mins of injury time didn’t prove costly.

Kilman:5 No blame on Kilman for the opener. His pass back allowed Areola more than enough time. Not lots to do wit the game played at a snails pace. Possibly could have done better for Forest’s second which flicked off the back of Milenkovic which resulted in a 6 min delay whilst VAR decided whether it was a goal or not.

Cresswell:7 Has given the type of controlled and forward thinking performances in the last two games which indicate the type on player West Ham will need in a back three next season. Tried to score with a cheeky backheel.

Coufal:7 Excellent early cross set up Soucek. Had a left footed shot and forced a corner minutes later. Played so well that i doubt he’ll be short of offers next season. Had another dipping shot in the second half.

Coufal had an all action final game at The London Stadium

Rodriguez:6 Ironically he looks better under Potter than Lopetgui who’s decision it was to sign him. Did okay but the pace of the game suited him.

Ward Prowse:5 Good reading of the game allowed him to stop a dangerous Elanga counter attack.

Wan Bissaka:6 Great at slowing the game down then exploding past his marker. Kudus clearly likes playing with AWB rather than Emerson. Good block at the end stopped Silva making it 3-1.

Soucek:5 Fantastic header from a Coufal cross forced an acrobatic save from the Forest keeper. Very important header out from a Forest corner at the end of the first half. Struggled with his passing.

Bowen:6 Nasty collision with the post in the first half raised concussion concerns. Not really involved in the game until he scored a wonder goal by cushioning the ball with the outside of his foot then volleyed a missile past Sels to make it 2-1.

Kudus:5 Some nice touches early in the game and decent link-up with Wan Bissaka but suffered from the lack of a striker as a focal point.

Substitutes

Paqueta:6 On for Rodriguez in the 58th min as part of a quadruple substitution. Improved things slightly by passing forward and had a shot. Played his part in Bowen’s goal.

Soler: Swapped for James Ward Prowse. Forced a save with some neat footwork.

Fullkrug:5 On for Soucek but West Ham conceded straight after the first round of substitutions. Struggled against Milenkovic but forced a late save with a trademark header.

Alvarez:5 Replaced Cresswell and almost had a fight.

Guilherme:6Ā 79th min sub for Kudus. Immediately made the team better and could have scored.

Seems a lot of negative comments on here.

Watched with a Forest fan who seemed to think West Ham deserved a point out of that game. He gave MotM to Sels and Elanga.

Areola was worth more than a 4 IMHO, even though he was responsible for the 1st. A couple of outstanding saves.

Went today – never seen so may empty seats – Forrest clearly don’t float the tourist boat as I had a near enough an empty row behind me –
Hard to believe this was a live match – even by the bowl standard this was on a monks vow of silence level.

The usual fare of dog sh1te didn’t help although the ref and lino were a right pair of tnucks

Why the hell is Guilherme not getting a start, Hammers looked so much better we he came on, simply needs to play, the kid has got talent.

Generally, out-paced, out-muscled and out-played. Hesitant in making decisions, seemed to get in each other’s way, and to be second to the ball. Livened up after the second half substitution and showed good energy and commitment in the final 10 minutes and injury time. The team failed to play the ball out from the back and play it long and lost possession too easily. Really need more pace, more decisiveness and more fight from the kick off

What is a matter with my W Ham Can you not see Kilman was at at fault with second goal No serious challenge What on earth is going on We were second best at everything You can keep your season ticket for next season and stuff if where the sun dosnt shine

Once again an impotent performance from Potter’s Westham . Football evolves year on year and Potter’s ‘ Brighton ‘ tactics of yesteryear which achieved mid table mediocrity are now entirely obsolete . Next season Westham will have an inferior squad in part due to PSR constraints and as such will be one of the worst performing teams in the league if Potter remains as coach . The only heart in mouth excitement will be a relegation battle .

Frustrating to watch. Lack of ideas, lack of intensity and coordination, exhibiting a slow and announced build up, and even poor passing at times. Players in general not at their best. And Potter? Potter could now total 20 -points if the last game is a win- against the 23 points contributed by Lopetegui.
