Everything clicked in a two minute period last night as West Ham blew Wolves away in front of a vociferous home crowd and live on Sky Sports. Delighted fans saw The Hammers take three points and finally lift themselves out of the relegation zone and at the same time give their opponents around the drop zone something to think about.
Now, even if only temporarily, the Hammers lie ahead of Spurs, level with Nottingham Forest and just one point behind Leeds, the Irons having thrown down the gauntlet for all three to respond.

Mavropanos starts it all off
The manner of the victory will certainly have those three anxiously looking over their shoulder. Sky labeled it a “statement win” which shows the rest of the league that the Irons aren’t going quietly and indeed, on this form showing that the Hammers do indeed have the credentials to see the job done.
“London Stadium was bouncing’ – Nuno
Two more ‘winnable’ games beckon – Crystal Palace away and then high flying Everton visit after – which could really see Hammers fans believing if this level of result is maintained.
Of course the Hammers boss is under no illusions:
“We are extremely happy,” Nuno said. “All of us deserve an evening like this, especially our fans. London Stadium was amazing; it was bouncing with energy even in the hard parts when the game was tough.
“I realise there is still a lot of work to be done yet. We made a big step today, which was important for us, but nothing has changed.”
No matter, three points taken, Sit back and enjoy the weekend, Hammers fans, and wait to see if any of the trio around us slip up.
It was a wonderful result against a team that is on form, just what is needed. There were long periods though when we didn’t look so good is the cautionary note, we won’t win many games 4-0 on that 90 minute performance. Its still going to be a six game slog…
Tottenham don’t have it easy at Sunderland tomorrow, nor do Forest at home to Villa. Leeds have injuries away at Man U on Monday doesn’t look so kind either. Hopefully all three will blow out and we’re out of the bottom three for keeps.
Well done W Ham More of the same please
