West Ham academy products in PL after Luton win

Hammers academy products Dan Potts and Reece Bourke will be celebrating big time tonight as Luton Town made it into the Premier League after beating Coventry City at Wembley in the Championship Wembley play off.

The two joined the Hammers at the age of nine before eventually leaving with Potts having received the Young Hammer of the Year award in May 2012 after making four appearances  as we returned to the Premier League..

He was allowed to leave in 2015 when he joined the Kenilworth Road club where he has since made 196 appearances.

Burke joined the West Ham junior team  at nine years old making his his official debut on 5 January 2014 for West Ham against Forest at the City Ground when Sam Allardyce put a team of kids in the FA Cup match to be beaten 5-0.

Burke’s first goal for the club came in a pre-season friendly against Sampdoria scoring a 9oth minute winner. He was eventually put out on loan to Bradford City where he became Player of the season before joining joining Luton Town in 2021. 

Luton won tonight’s play off on penalties 6-5 and our two former favourites are sure of a mig welcome back when the arrive for the London Stadium game.
