West Ham United will be looking to finish their pre-season campaign on a positive note as they host Celta Vigo at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
With the Premier League season just around the corner, manager Julen Lopetegui will be keen to assess his squad’s readiness for the challenges ahead. The Hammers have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window, with the arrivals of Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme, and Guido Rodriguez bolstering the squad.
While the focus will be on fine-tuning preparations for the opening league game against Aston Villa, the match against Celta Vigo provides an opportunity for Lopetegui to experiment with different formations and personnel. The Spanish side, under the guidance of Claudio Giraldez, have also strengthened their squad and will provide a stern test for the Hammers.
With both teams aiming to build momentum ahead of the new season, the match promises to be an entertaining encounter.
Not sure how many will be in the stadium thanks to some sort of online campaign against the owners to do with concessions. Shame because normally a game to take the kids to for people who can’t afford a season ticket or premier league game. Or a chance to see new signings for first time. Might not be much of an atmosphere.
Indeed, looks like there will be about 10k fans there from the booking system. Only really two sides of the lower tier taken. Wish I could send back my tickets!
Its a boycott due to the club removing concessions (cheaper tickets for our younger and older fans), we should all support this boycott to show that GSB can’t keep mistreating us fans.
Appreciate some will have unknowingly bought ticket but you can still show you support in other ways like signing the petition.
i’m wondering which of our new signings is going to pick up a long-term injury just before the season starts. i’m very sorry, i’m a West Ham tragic and can’t help thinking tragically 😜
🤣🤣🤣
