West Ham approach French club for striker

|

The agent of Boulaye Dia has confirmed that West Ham have made an approach to sign the Reims striker. He also reveals he is unsure if Dia will move in this window, as he believes his client could be able to attract more clubs in the summer. The agent was speaking on French TV channel TeleFoot.

The 24-year-old has scored 10 Ligue 1 goals and assisted once in 16 appearances this term making him one of the highest scorers in the French top flight league.

Dia scored 10 league goals in 42 games across the last two seasons and is proving to be a real quality finisher in Europe.

Dia’s Stade Reims contract runs until 2022 and it’s reckoned David Moyes could get him for a knock down transfer fee as low £10million.

However, the Hammers could face competition for Dia’s signature. Arsenal, Marseille and Lyon are  all thought to be big fans of the young striker.

Definitely looks like a player that could do some damage in Moyes system, lets hope there is some truth in the rumour COYI !!!

Not a great fan of the January window but seeing as we’ve sold Haller ( not sorry to see him go in all honesty ) we are now more desperate for a Striker than ever . Truth is we’ve made a few good signings during the winter , so it must be good for something I’ll admit . I keep suffering with this do like & don’t like feeling about the January window ,,, but hey , that’s me.
If we do manage to sign a striker he needs to be at least in his mid-twenties with hunger and pace + tenacity . Not too worried about size as most modern players these days are fairly big lads anyway . As always West Ham United are reportedly interested in a fist full of players , so let’s wait and see . The owners have been backing Moyes recently and let’s hope that new relationship continues ; their attitude definitely seems to have changed somewhat .

Surely best get someone in before you sell, now everyone knows we are desperate and the price goes up. hopefully a deal for someone is already done just not announced. can see us just ending up with a half fit not exactly in great form josh king but hope I’m wrong.
