Police believe more arrests will follow this week after trouble at the London Stadium Europa League group game between West Ham and Rapid Vienna last Thursday. The game won 2-0 on the pitch by the Hammers but experienced troubles with assaults, missiles being thrown by both sides and away supporters attempting to beach the segregation line.  Three arrests were made on the night all believed to Austrian supporters, two for alleged assault of a police officer and another for possessing an offensive weapon.

This week London Stadium security staff, the club and police will review high definition CCTV footage to identify all those involved with a police source telling Clart and Hugh that more arrests were inevitable.

The London Stadium CCTV team uses high tech software to track those caught of an offence such as throwing missiles back to the turnstile they entered the stadium, they are then able to cross-reference the ticketing database to find out who purchased the ticket.

Those identified of serious offences in the UK are likely to face a three-year banning order from the courts and an indefinate ban from the club, Austrian fans identified are likely to be passed on to Rapid Vienna and the Austrian authorities to deal with within their regulations and laws.
