West Ham arrive in Miami

|

David Moyes and his first team squad landed quietly in Florida on Sunday to spend five days at a warm-weather training camp.  Writing in his London Evening Standard Sport column on Friday, Moyes said: “We’ve just come through a real hard winter period and although I haven’t been here since the start of the season, I know the players have been at it from July 1.

“We’re going for five days and it will be good to get a little sun on our backs, work as a squad and then come back for what will be a really condensed period of eight matches before the end of the season.”

The club is keen to make the trip to South Florida a rather low key affair considering Saturday’s troubles and insist it is not a holiday or a reward for players. Last year Slaven Bilic took the players to Dubai where it rained continuously and while Miami will reach a high temperature of 83F today severe thunderstorms and torrential rain is forecasted.

American Irons fan here in Delray Beach, Florida on vacation. not that far from Miami. Would love to run into them. PS rain has not happened yet in the 2 days forecasted. Maybe the injured players will get some much needed healing.

Lovely comments for a squad that has been decimated all season ( and last season) by injuries . This weeks getaway is probably the best thing the team can do . Leave the distraction behind and think Football . Get those cuts and bruises healed and get prepared for the battling eight games that remain . Forget those rediculous fans and think about Football ,, because the fans that accosted West Ham United certainly weren’t . We need you fit and mentally ready to save our season . You have the great Majority of Decent Fans Behind you despite the deplorable actions of a few .
    COYHAMMERS , PLEASE .

Lets hope Moyes comes back less fogged up.Criminal to play without a recognised striker on Saturday. He Dropped Hernandez after the win against Watford when he was starting to show some form and since then the whole team has gone down the pan in all areas. If we dont beat Southampton i can honestly see us going down as the club is in a right old mess.

    • kevin says:

Who would you blame if we don’t beat Southampton?? ,,, Moyes , the Team or who exactly.
Get a grip …. did you not notice that we have been playing almost two seasons without a fully fit squad ,,, or is that something that doesn’t matter ?..

    • Hammerkip says:

Yeah your right 64 I don’t think he goes alot on the pea ..it was madness not to start him.. ..if we don’t beast Southampton we don’t deserve to stay up ..at the min I can’t see were the next point is coming from no matter who we play

After all what happened at the weekend maybe not a bad thing after all. Over there the media can feel far away which is good to focus and set the mind set for the very important next two games coming up. I cant see us not getting 6 points from Southhampton and Stoke but wee need fresh legs for whats coming after…

I know timing is everything but this just doesn’t seem right to me.

    • Hammerkip says:

Yeah i have to agree pop dosnt seem right to me either ..

    • kevin says:

Seems ideal to me , if only to escape the hatred some fans are demonstrating . Players are people , don’t forget . These protestations is doing nothing to help the team in the fight against relegation. . It is only helping those around us to up Thier game .
Please support the Team and Manager in our hour of need instead of being negative .
To blame Moyes is daft …, Blame previous.
