West Ham have exclusively informed Claret & Hugh that none other than Irons Sporting Director Mark Noble will be handling the transfer of Celtic’s Daniel Cummings to the London Stadium.
Speaking to associate editor Sean Whetstone this morning, our top source said, “Mark Noble is handling this particular transfer.”
Cummings came close to making a deadline-day move to East London. However, The Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to have blocked the deal which would have netted his club £500k for a soon to be out of contract player.
The prolific young striker has been scoring almost a goal per game at youth level, including the UEFA Youth League, but has been unable to break into Celtic’s first team.
The striker—regarded as the Glasgow club’s best young talent—did get a few minutes on the pitch at the end of Celtic’s Champions League fixture against Aston Villa but is believed to be frustrated by the lack of opportunities.
As a result, Cummings has just six months remaining on his current deal and can sign a pre-contract with other clubs. If he chooses to join the Hammers, the club would need to pay compensation in the region of £250,000
It was widely reported he had signed a pre contract with West Ham, was that misreported?
Every article was saying he’d already signed a pre contract agreement with west ham last week and west ham were trying to get him early. And now…… No.
Is anything on these websites every actually accurate?
poor you
Rogers will be doing everything he can to keep him. Let’s hope Nobes has been learning how to shmooze from Steidten. Fire up the private jet for Noble. Stansted to Glasgow shouldn’t take long.
Whatever he says, Rodgers hasn’t given up hope of keeping him. Otherwise, they’d have taken the money. Anything else would just be seen as spiteful and not a good thing for the club and their remaining youth players.
All this transfer news comes out after the window closes. …waiting for free players again….we will get burnt in some way..should of made them offer they couldn’t refuse …million would of done it and saved any gazumping…but that’s to easy
Previous articles on here implied it was already a done deal for the summer, this seems to contradict those.
