West Ham away fans forced to wait for decision

West Ham supporters will need to wait to find out whether away fans will be permitted to attend European competition matches.

A decision was expected yesterday but Claret and Hugh the decision has been delayed to new week.

UEFA previously issued a warning to fans not to make any travel plans for away games as they are yet to decide whether away fans will be allowed for group stage games.

The governing body are also yet to confirm the availability of tickets for away fans for the Europa League. Neutral venues, closed stadiums and the absence of away fans are all still possibilities

It comes as the Hammers get set to kick off their full Europa League campaigns next month.

Current Covid travel restrictions mean that UEFA don’t allow away ticket allocations for European games in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League competitions.

Austria is a green list country, Croatia is on an amber watch list while Belgium consider UK travellers as red although double vaccinated people can travel as long as they test on arrival.

All restrictions are subject to change so it will be interesting what decision UEFA will announce today and what certainly fans will get.
