This afternoon there has been an update on West Ham’s pursuit of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen who are demanding £40m for the striker. The Norwegian international is under contract until September 2030.

According to the BBC, this fee has been considered too high by the West Ham board.

Nuno Espírito Santo had identified the player as his preferred option, and will now have to reconsider other options which include Pablo Felipe from Portuguese side Gil Vicente  Viktoria Plzen forward Rafiu Durosinmi and Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.

Sadly, while there is an internal stand off regarding the players offered to the Head Coach and those he wants, it will make this transfer window difficult for West Ham, though a deal for Felipe could be finalised soon, with his agent Jorge Mendes involved.
A senior source had already exclusively informed Claret and Hugh that the club have bid for a lot of players that won’t come due to our league position. In his words “We need players up for the fight.”
C&H will bring more updates on this throughout the January transfer window.

Your solution is in Lazio. His name is Taty. He’s not expensive, and was a golden boot in MLS. He’s got the cv to make it work. We dont want a striker who has gotten net 3 times in 18 games. We have one of those already and we r getting rid of him

  • Hammeroo says:

Strand Larsen hasn’t really been up for the fight in the even more desperate Wolves team so why are we so desperate to spend £40mill to get him? It’s a nono Nuno from me.

If Nuno had shown any idea that he knew what he was doing and how to make things right, I would agree that he needs to be given what he asks for, but that has not been the case and so he might just have to settle for a compromise. That is what you get for settling for the first name out of the hat when you need to be looking for something more.

Saw a quote somewhere that we want to make Kilman going back to Wolves part of the deal. That alone makes it a brilliant piece of business if true!

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Sullivan won’t pay £40m for anyone in this window and shouldn’t for a player with only 1 goal this season. On form he is a £15m player top End we should pay £25m with some add ons if he rediscovers his form.

  • Harvey Fox says:

£40m for someone who has scored one premier League goal. Is that a joke?

  • Tom says:

Another shambolic we tried but our finances are tight , so we carry on shopping in the bargain basement. Sullivan in charge of the transfers who would have thought.

  • Kenny Irons says:

Strand Larsen £40m ? half that is about right.
Wolves trying to tuck us up again, £40mil for Kilman probably worst buy in football history !
We’ve also made a few similar cock ups, obviously, we all know shocking recruitment ( managers & players) have got us where we are today.
