Son Heung-min could be set to miss West Ham’s next game when they face Tottenham in the Premier League on October 19th. The South Korean star has been carrying a thigh injury that has taken longer to heal than expected. According to the latest reports, he could be in line for a place on the bench at best for Spurs’ next match.
Much like the Hammers with Niclas Füllkrug, Tottenham were hoping the latest international break would give Son enough time to recover, but that does not seem to be the case.
Unfortunately for West Ham, Ange Postecoglou still boasts an embarrassment of riches in attack, with Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson both looking impressive despite Spurs’ 3-2 loss to Brighton in their last EPL game.
West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui will also be keeping his fingers crossed ahead of the next round of international fixtures, with particular focus on Michail Antonio returning injury-free. The Jamaican forward has become increasingly important, especially with Füllkrug needing to be eased back into action slowly.
