Matheus Franca chased by the Hammers and Newcastle
The Hammers are being reported as being ready to challenge Newcastle for the transfer of Flamengo midfielder Matheus Franca.
The Daily Mail has been claiming that we have let Flamengo know of their their interest in buying the 19-year-old who has also been on the Crystal Palace radar after enjoying his second term as a first-team regular in 22/23.
The youngster broke through at the end of 2021 going on to make 23 senior appearances the following season whilst bagging six goals. Last season he appeared 28 times .
The Rio de Janerio-born player to has appeared for a total of 1,050 minutes and his form appears to have convinced -West Ham to register their interest with the player contracted to his present club until December 2027.
However, it looks more than likely that we will need a lot more than this youngster to make a serious impact on the Premier League and Europa League next season,
