West Ham United are hot on the heels of Al-Hilal and Saudi Arabia right-back Saud Abdulhamid in a bid to shore up their defence, according to journalist Will Unwin of The Guardian. The 24-year-old full-back has emerged as a summer target for the Hammers, with his experience and bargain price tag making him an attractive proposition.

Abdulhamid, a mainstay for both club and country (over 210 appearances), is turning heads across Europe.Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested, while French outfit Nice are also circling.
Toulouse have already made a formal offer, with Abdulhamid’s transfer fee estimated to be around £3 million.

Abdulhamid’s experience and affordability tick all the boxes for the East London club.

New West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is planning a significant squad overhaul this summer, with Abdulhamid potentially being one of five or six new signings. The minimal financial outlay makes this a potentially shrewd acquisition for West Ham.

West Ham face competition for Abdulhamid’s signature, but the minimal financial risk involved makes him a gamble worth taking. Now if he can adapt to the Premier League, West Ham will be hailed for their transfer market expertise. However, they will need to act swiftly to beat their rivals to his signature.

Transfer fee that could be labelled ‘pin money’.
Looks good as backup for Coufal and Johnson.
A start to strengthening overly poor subs bench.

Can’t the rich Saudi clubs afford him or is it a case of him wanting European experience? It makes a change that a player is possibly coming to the Premier League instead of one leaving it for Saudi for nothing more than the money!
