West Ham appear to be moving ahead with plans to reshape their football structure, with reports indicating the club is close to appointing a Director of Football and Kieran Scott is emerging as a leading contender.
Scott, currently Head of Football at Middlesbrough, has built a strong reputation.
Kieran Scott Built Reputation At Norwich
His rise began at Norwich City, where he played a key role in modernising the club’s recruitment model and ensuring a clearer path for academy players into the senior squad. His work at Carrow Road helped establish Norwich as a club capable of identifying value and developing talent.
He moved to Middlesbrough in 2021, taking on broader responsibilities that included transfer strategy, academy alignment, loans and long‑term football planning.
Former vice‑chair Karren Brady previously confirmed that West Ham intended to appoint a Director of Football this summer, with Paul Wagner, recently departed from Dynamo Dresden, also linked to the role.
Should Scott take the job, he would be expected to lead West Ham’s recruitment alongside Max Hahn and Dylan Curnell, with the clear objective of steering the club back to the Premier League.

If we’re bringing in Kieran Scott we should also bring in Rob Edwards as manager. They would work well together.
I sincerely hope the first thing he does is to do everything he can to keep Bowen and Souchek at our club. The only two players to give absolutely everything in every game.
This would be a fantastic move but only if there are demarcation lines that are set in stone
1 the new DoF has to have control of all footballing matters without any interference from a certain individual
2 the manager whoever they are is capable of and enthusiastic to team up with a DoF
I’m worried that nuno doesn’t appear to be the type of manager to accept this situation and I’m almost certain sulli couldn’t abide by the rules
If this works it’s a great step to reinvigorating the squad and club, we need to move in a very different direction and I’ll be excited to see how it works out

Sounds like good news but what Julian Woodhouse points out makes you wonder how the club will cook, I mean arrange the books so the that the club continues to function.
This definitely is the right time for Kretinsky to get more shares and influence, as DS & Brady have failed spectacularly and it is clear for all to see.
Whoever it is needs to be in black and white Sullivan does not have any involvement.
All well and good but with what money, we have to recoup £150million from player sales just not to fall foul of SCR regulations and then the board, if so inclined, can invest up to a max of £90 million. We owe £200million in transfer fees, posted losses of £104 million on top of that andcwill lose out on £100 million of revenue as a resukt of relegation, why in the heck would you come to us in those circumstances, there is no money to spend?
For the challenge, Julian. Not everyone wants to walk into a perfectly functioning job where they just act as a caretaker keeping the status-quo.
If he succeeds in this, it will set him up for life. I’d do it in a heartbeat.
