West Ham United have reportedly increased their offer for Corinthians attacker Wesley Gassova to £15 million. According to Globo Esporte, the Hammers are the leading contenders for the 19-year-old forward and have submitted an offer. However, Corinthians are holding out for around €25 million for the highly rated attacker according to some media outlets, which doesn’t match with breaking news this morning..

Contradictory reports suggest that the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement, though Crystal Palace is also rumoured to be showing interest.

West Ham and Tim Steidten are eager to bolster our attacking line-up after the season, and the Brazilian prospect could be a valuable long-term addition. With proper guidance, he has the potential to develop into a top-tier player.

Joining the Premier League would be a decent step-up for Gassova, and West Ham could offer him a platform to shine at a high level. Regular Premier League football is believed to be appealing to a player eying a regular spot for his national team.

The left side of the attack has long been a concern for West Ham, with Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, and Maxwel Cornet all struggling to secure a permanent spot. Mohammed Kudus has filled the role recently but prefers a different position. It remains to be seen whether Julen Lopetegui agrees.

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

“Being close to” can turn out to be frustrating if the player in the end decides to go elsewhere. It would be good for the club to “put the money where their mouth is” and to take the necessary steps -if the player is that good and holds great promise- to secure a contract ASAP, as opposed to trying to save every last penny.
