Another bonkers day in West Ham land yesterday…although there is some good news
It appears that despite contrary reports, West Ham United are on the brink of signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, with personal terms already agreed between the player and the club. This has been an incredibly fast moving story with speculation suggesting the Irons had made a bid for Alexander Sørloth.
It has since been revealed that the Hammers hierarchy have made up their mind and decided to bid for the Villa striker above the likes of Ivan Toney, Jonathan David and Sorloth.
The 20-year-old Colombian has been a top target for the Hammers throughout the summer transfer window, and it appears our persistence is finally paying off. While a fee of £35 million has been reported, the two clubs are believed to be close to reaching an agreement but possibly closer to £40m.
Duran’s arrival will provide a much-needed boost to West Ham’s attacking options, with the club looking to address their goal scoring woes from last season. The Colombian’s pace, power, and finishing ability make him an exciting prospect for the future.
With the deal for Duran edging closer, West Ham will be hoping to complete the transfer in the coming days, as they continue to strengthen the squad for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Being asked to pay a premium price for potential rather than proven ability is rarely a good idea.If you add the fact that he is a proven disruptive influence and not popular with the Villa players I can’t help thinking we are buying future trouble
Would be a great addition to the squad but will still need another striker and more at the back, zouma looks like he could break at any given time.
