West Ham have prioritised jet-heeled Brian Brobbey over AndrÊ Silva as they seek a forward to bolster their squad for the rest of the season, according to a C&H source.

Ajax striker Brobbey has moved to the top of the club’s list, surpassing Portuguese international Silva, who was initially highlighted by Max Hahns prior to Graham Potter’s arrival at the London Stadium.

This season, the Dutch international, under contract until 2027, has scored three goals and provided seven assists in 28 appearances.

It appears that during final discussions yesterday, the club opted for the younger Brobbey on a loan, believing he offers a better fit with greater potential for development.

The Hammers have struggled to secure their major transfer targets during this window but recognise the need to strengthen the squad.

Jarrod Bowen is back in training and expected to return for the Chelsea clash, but Niclas FĂźllkrug remains unavailable

3 goals in 28 games? Not exactly prolific is he.

Not sure why we don’t agree deals with options for both.

We have no strikers unless you class Ings as one so having some variety would be good.

What’s happening about 19 year old Wonder kid, Ezechiel Banzuzi?
Attacking Mid / Def Mid / Central Mid, is he coming as well?
Apparently Bobbery is a front man relying on service Banzuzi with his pace could be a duo.
    That’s if either are likely!!!!

True, I think we expect to be disappointed now – anyhow, IF either of them come through the door, it’ll be good news for the future I think and at least a boost for this season.

Yes, of course we need a striker but unless we address the over 60’s midfield how are we going to create let alone score! We are the fourth worst team in Prem’ for big chances created with only Southampton, Ipswich and Everton below us.
Plus, of course, we can’t defend !
    Nice mix innit ?

We are trying to sign and young pacy, powerful striker that before this season his goal and assist record was exceptional and people are still whinging, can’t make this up.

Also it’s reported as a loan if we can get a loan with an option that’s exceptional business

3 goals in 28 appearances in a bang average league, just what we need! FFS.

Bit out of form this season still registered 5 assists, seen some suggest it’s to do with service he’s getting but look at previous seasons his goals and assists compared to his starts was quality and he was only early 20s.

You could also look as someone like Isak of newcastle his last season in Spain was hardly prolific compared to seasons before.

He’s strong, quick can score and create also only 22. This is exactly what we need.

Better news than Silva, but can’t seem to score in Dutch League this season

  • Peter says:

If this works out, it’ll be great. He is quick and physical so he will be a danger up front. Antonio is unique and we have been lucky to have him (when he does not shin the ball of course), but on the other hand Brobbey is from the Ajax academy and is an out-and-out striker. He is good at hold up play and providing assists. In theory our forward line contains several players who can score goals, so assists will be valuable over a season + a handful of goals. If Kudus calms down and becomes the player he can be, Bowen comes back and Summerville plays a full season at Premier League level, it will be very interesting watching!

    Imn afraid not

  • Mavded says:

Believe it when i see it and i dont think i’ll be seeing that or any other transfer…..they want Dan Neil from Sunderland but if you want a midfielder and an attacking one Jobe Bellinghams the man and to make it sweeter for Sullivan there will be big sell on value as he is coming along just like his brother Jude did
