West Ham United’s pursuit of Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme appears to be nearing a positive conclusion, according to reports from Brazilian media.

Earlier reports suggested West Ham submitted a €25 million offer for Guilherme, which was being considered by his current club, Palmeiras. However, Palmeiras reportedly valued him closer to €30 million.

Journalist André Hernan of UOL provides a more optimistic update, claiming that negotiations between West Ham and Palmeiras are becoming “more and more advanced.” He also suggests that West Ham’s actual offer is higher than the initial €25 million reported earlier.

Hernan further reports that West Ham representatives are currently in Brazil and expressed their willingness to increase their offer to €30 million, potentially with additional bonuses.

The report also highlights that Guilherme himself is keen on the move to West Ham, likely due to the allure of playing in the Premier League.

While Guilherme’s first-team statistics at Palmeiras might not be eye-catching, the club considers him a significant talent, placing him behind only Endrick and Estêvão (who are departing for Real Madrid and Chelsea, respectively) in their youth development hierarchy.

Combining information from various sources, it seems West Ham are nearing an agreement with Palmeiras to acquire Guilherme this summer. While his lack of first-team experience might raise questions, West Ham clearly sees his potential and are actively pursuing his signature.

A potentially exciting signing!

Fabrizio Romano seems to think this signing is going to happen imminently. Seeing as he mostly plays on the right wing it makes me wonder if Lopetegui is considering playing Bowen in the striker role.
