West Ham Could Be Relegated Tonight As Tottenham Face Chelsea

West Ham’s Premier League survival hopes could officially end tonight when Tottenham Hotspur kick off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the slightly bizarre time of 8:15pm.

A win for Spurs, who traditionally have a dreadful record in West London, would automatically relegate the Hammers this evening.

A draw would technically keep West Ham alive but would leave Nuno Espírito Santo’s side requiring a completely unrealistic 13-goal swing on the final day of the season, alongside a victory of our own and a defeat for Roberto De Zerbi’s team against Everton.

West Ham Need Chelsea Favour

Realistically, West Ham’s clearest route to survival now involves Tottenham losing both of their remaining matches while the Hammers beat Leeds United on the final day.

So whilst survival is still mathematically possible, there is every chance West Ham could officially become a Championship club later tonight.

Chelsea have already announced Xabi Alonso as their new manager for next season and despite their recent defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at the weekend, their performance at least showed signs of improvement.

Hammers Clinging To Final Hope

Stranger things have happened in football.

So tonight, West Ham supporters will simply have fingers crossed that Chelsea can somehow drag this relegation fight into the final weekend of the season.

Chelsea will beat spurs , then it’s up to Moyes keeping us up.

It’s like waiting for the executioners axe to come down.
Always knowing what the final outcome will be.
Let’s get it over and done there’s not going to be a reprieve.

Losing their last two with safety almost in the bag would be very Spursy. If we’re still with hope after this evening’s game a very Spursy happening is on.

We’re clinging onto long shot hopes. Yes, Tottenham could lose to both Chelsea and Everton, they’re both better teams. We could beat Leeds. But for all three things to happen as is needed is very much odds against.

The fact of the matter is we lost the last three when that could not be afforded, we’re nigh on certainly down due to our own failings.
